Hold onto your controllers, because it looks like the worlds of “John Wick” and “Saw” are expanding into the gaming realm with new AAA titles! Lionsgate, the studio behind both franchises, has confirmed that high-caliber video game adaptations are in development, with announcements expected in the near future.
During a Q2 2026 earnings call, Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Chairman Adam Fogelson revealed the studio’s increased interest in gaming opportunities for its intellectual properties, specifically naming “John Wick” and “Saw” as key projects. He indicated that these projects are “on schedule” and that further details, along with other gaming initiatives, will be announced soon.
For the “John Wick” franchise, fans can anticipate a “big-budget AAA action experience.” This upcoming title is expected to be a more in-depth adaptation than the 2019 tactical RPG, *John Wick Hex*, which received a lukewarm reception and was later delisted from digital stores. The new game aims to expand the John Wick universe beyond the films, suggesting a potentially original storyline.
Meanwhile, the “Saw” franchise is also slated for a new video game adaptation. Rumors from as far back as September 2023 suggested a single-player survival game, codenamed “Project Gideon,” was in the works and had been approved, with a multiplayer version also being discussed. Producers of the “Saw” films had previously confirmed in a November 2021 Reddit AMA that new games based on the series would “100% happen,” indicating a long-standing commitment to further video game entries. The “Saw” franchise previously saw video game adaptations in 2009 and 2010, which were third-person survival horror games.
