In *Black Myth: Wukong*, Mana is the essential resource required to cast powerful spells such as **Immobilize**, **Cloud Step**, **Rock Solid**, **Ring of Fire**, and **A Pluck of Many**. Unlike Stamina, Mana does **not** naturally regenerate over time. Managing your Mana pool and knowing how to replenish it during combat and exploration is critical to surviving the game’s challenging boss encounters.
Mana management in *Black Myth: Wukong* is split into two categories: **recovering/restoring active Mana** and **permanently increasing your maximum Mana capacity**.

## How to Recover and Restore Mana
Because Mana does not passively recharge, you must rely on specific items, skills, and gear to restore your blue bar during exploration and boss fights.
### 1. Resting at Keeper’s Shrines
The most basic and reliable way to restore your Mana is to rest at any **Keeper’s Shrine**. Resting fully replenishes your Health, Stamina, Gourd charges, and Mana.
* **Caveat:** Resting resets the game world, causing all standard enemies in the area to respawn.
### 2. Using Specific Gourd Drinks and Soaks
You can customize your Healing Gourd with drinks and soaks that add Mana-restoring properties to your healing sips:
* **Jade Essence (Drink):** Found in Chapter 3 (Valley of Ecstasy, near the *Towers of Karma* Shrine, on a table behind a statue). Each sip from a Gourd filled with Jade Essence restores **36% of your Maximum Health** and a **moderate amount of Mana** (roughly 10% to 15% of your total pool).
* **Turtle Tear (Soak):** Obtained in Chapter 3 on the shore of the Bitter Lake after defeating the Apramana Bat and interacting with the giant turtle. When equipped, **drinking from your Gourd while at full Health** restores a moderate amount of Mana. This is highly effective for maintaining Mana during long exploration runs without needing to rest at a shrine.
### 3. Unlocking Mana-Restoring Skills (Sparks)
You can invest Sparks into specific spell trees to gain Mana back through active gameplay mechanics:
* **Spirit Shards (Immobilize Tree):** Located under the Mysticism tab. This upgrade recovers a moderate amount of Mana if you **”crash”** an immobilized enemy. “Crashing” means dealing enough heavy damage to physically shatter the enemy out of the stun before the spell’s duration naturally expires.
* **Bold Venture (Rock Solid Tree):** Located under the Alteration tab. This skill **recovers a considerable amount of Mana** every time you execute a successful deflection (parry) using the Rock Solid spell.
* **Caveat:** Activating this talent narrows your deflection timing window, requiring precise execution.
### 4. Wearing the Galeguard Armor Set
* **Galeguard Greaves / Set Bonus:** Wearing pieces of the crafted Galeguard armor set allows you to recover a moderate amount of Mana. The effect triggers when you successfully execute **three perfect dodges in quick succession**.

## How to Permanently Increase Maximum Mana
Increasing your maximum Mana pool allows you to cast more spells per encounter before running dry. You can permanently expand your Mana bar using the following methods:
### 1. Spiritual Awakening Skill (Foundation Tree)
* **Location:** Foundation -> Survival Skill Tree.
* **Requirement:** Unlocks once you reach **Level 30**.
* **Effect:** Each talent level invested moderately increases your Maximum Mana by **+10**. You can upgrade this skill up to **6 times** for a total permanent increase of **+60 Mana**. It costs 2 Sparks per level.
### 2. Finding Celestial Taiyi Pills
Celestial Taiyi Pills are rare, glowing golden pills hidden throughout the game’s chapters. Consuming one permanently increases your Maximum Mana. There is exactly **one pill per chapter**:
* **Chapter 1:** Inside the Black Wind Cave (near the Bodhi Peak Meditation Spot, sitting on a wooden table).
* **Chapter 2:** In the Crouching Tiger Temple cellar area.
* **Chapter 3:** Hidden within the Pagoda Realm.
* **Chapter 4:** Located near the Cliff of Oblivion.
* **Chapter 5:** Found in the Furnace Valley area.
### 3. Crafting Celestial Medicines with Xu Dog (Mind Cores)
In Chapter 2, you will encounter an NPC named **Xu Dog**. After completing his initial quest (defeating the giant frog boss Lang-Li-Guhh-Baw in the pit near Sandgate Village), he will relocate to the cellar of the Crouching Tiger Temple.
* **Celestial Medicines:** You can trade **Mind Cores** (dropped by major bosses and elite enemies) to Xu Dog in exchange for permanent stat upgrades, including **Maximum Mana**.
* **Respec Option:** You can reset and reallocate your Mind Cores at Xu Dog at any time for free, allowing you to shift points into Mana whenever you need a spell-heavy build.
### 4. Completing the Five Skandhas Quest
By collecting all **Five Skandhas** (hidden key items scattered across Chapters 1 through 5) and delivering them to Xu Dog in the Zodiac Village, you will receive a unique medicine. This grants a **massive, permanent boost** to your Maximum Health, Stamina, and Mana simultaneously.

## Equipment and Curios that Boost Mana
You can equip specific gear to temporarily boost your maximum Mana while the items are active:
* **Thunderflame Seal (Curio):** This accessory increases your Maximum Mana by **+30**. It is a rare, random drop farmed from **Thunder Rhino Masters** (Lightning Mages) in Chapter 3, specifically around the *New Thunderclap Temple*.
* **Gore-Eye Daoist (Spirit):** Equipping this Spirit grants a passive effect that increases your Maximum Mana. It starts at **+10 Mana** and increases up to **+15 Mana** when fully upgraded to Rank 6 at a shrine.
* **Golden Feng-Tail Crown (Mythical Helm):** Obtained in Chapter 6 after defeating the Feng-Tail General. This mythical headpiece provides a massive flat bonus of **+30 Maximum Mana**.
